About Kathryn
One of my key responsibilities in teaching a foreign language is heightening low confidence levels. As a former Ivy League professor, I am both qualified and experienced in finding teaching activities that meet the individual student's goals. I always begin with the spoken word, later solidified by reading and then grounded in writing. I incorporate French culture through films and internet activities.
My lesson plans usually break into fifteen minute segments, to accommodate learners' attention span.
For example, fifteen minutes of verbal introduction and classroom responses. Fifteen minutes of using textbook exercises in grammar, vocabulary and syntax. Fifteen minutes for cultural experiences such as film. Finally, the students practice their writing skills.
What sets me apart -- in addition to my high-level teaching experience, is my warmth and sense of humor. I can teach at any level.
