About Chiara

I am an Italian native speaker and I have a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) Degree in "Languages, Civilisation and the Science of Language" (Modern Languages and Civilisations). My major at University was in American English and Brazialian Portuguese and my minor was International Politics. During High School and University I have been studing French as well. In 2017 I went on an exchange semester in Brazil, so I'm very fluent in Portuguese. During this experience, I have had the opportunity to help many university students with the Italian Language. In particular, I mainly used to correct their homeworks like written productions, grammar and translation exercises or revise for tests and exams. Morover, in 2018, as I was in the United Stated for an Au Pair experience, I was also a volunteer Italian teacher assistant at Skidmore College (New York, USA). I attended Italian lessons helping American students with exercises, pronunciation, conversation and linguistic suggestions. During the experience as Au Pair in the United States, I lived and worked for an Italo-American family who has two bilingual twins aged 6. My main duties were to talk with them in Italian, correcting and teaching them as much as possibile.

About the lesson

My teaching method is based on a positive, relaxed and well-aimed approach. As a very organized person, I would first like to talk about the needs and goals of the single person and try to find the best method to achieve the desired results. I focus on the student's need and linguistic knowledge to create a plan and path which has to be appropriate to the level of proficiency of the language. Basically, a personalized and 'ad hoc' teaching methodology which has as its basis organization, determination, patience and focus on final results. The method can then be discussed and organized together with the student, to satisfy him and put him at ease. My approach guarantees a true passion and interest in the study of languages, with a high level of understanding of the difficulties and the effort that this study entails; a proactive approach of support and continuous encouragement.
