About James

I'm James After studying finance at university, I thought it would be a great idea to try to become a professional boxer! Two broken noses later, and a couple of scoldings from my mother, I decided to transition into another thing many people thought I had no business doing - coding... I had a tough time learning how to code initially and found learning even the simplest concept difficult. I was confused by all the new terminology and for a long time was terrible at writing code. However after persistence, countless courses, seminars, tutorials, projects, books, and some help from coding mentors; I finally started to get the hang of things. Fast forward 5 years and I have now spent over three as a software engineer, building awesome and fun projects along the way. I have now decided to share my knowledge and help beginners learn how to code (and have an easier time at it than I did!).

About the lesson

As someone who doesn't have a PhD in computer science, and did not come out of my mother's womb with the ability to speak binary code, I have found that navigating the world of coding and software development to be a bit intimidating. In my lessons, I like to create lots of analogies and simplify many of the concepts and theories that beginners may struggle with. I like to break down concepts and help students understand the fundamentals first, in a way that makes sense to them. Lessons range from 30 mins to 2 hours and can cater to complete beginners or people looking to take their knowledge from beginner to advanced.
