International relations students who is passionate about teaching her native languages Spanish and Catalan

This summer, Robertina taught for an online summer camp and the results were amazing. Students thoroughly enjoyed the classes as they were fun and engaging with great results. She was always punctual and professional and I could not recommend a better teacher.

I have known Robertina Conforti for almost one year. During which time she has worked as a Language Guide (tutor/teacher) for our company - Speak Like A Native (SLAN) - where I am her direct supervisor. Robertina has been responsible for running an after-school language club in a primary school, a role which requires high levels of responsibility and commitment.

Robertina has demonstrated her own initiative and has proven herself as a dependable employee. She is autonomous and proactive – there is a great deal of trust in her to follow the company's procedures and methods without the need for constant supervision. A component of Robertina’s job role is to complete small tasks outside of her official working hours (for example, the preparation of resources), for which she sets her own deadlines. She has effective time-management skills and always fulfils compulsory administrative tasks on time.

Robertina is very open to feedback and actively searches for ways in which she can improve in her job role. SLAN use a Trainer system which involves our most experienced employees observing and giving feedback to Language Guides. During her first school term with SLAN, Robertina incorporated feedback from a Trainer and delivered high quality Spanish clubs. She is also able to self-evaluate and recognise her own strengths and weaknesses and work on developing these in her sessions.

Robertina's teaching skills are of a very high standard. She is comfortable with improvising and thinking on-the-spot to challenge more able students. Robertina is very conscious of creating a well-paced and dynamic session. This encourages children to engage and remain attentive. She has a very calm demeanour and forms positive relationships with her students while maintaining control of the class' behaviour.

Robertina has excellent communication skills. She has an outstanding grasp of the English language and is confident using both her mother tongue and second language when talking to people from all walks of life. She is professional and friendly.

Robertina is a very dependable employee, having not missed a club session during her time as a Language Guide.

Robertina has a deep understanding of Health & Safety and Safeguarding, having attended various in-house training courses.

There have been no safeguarding issues over the course of her employment.
