About Itamar

Itamar is teaching Music (guitar and piano) from his East Vancouver Studio and is welcoming adult and young players in all levels, from beginner to advanced.

Two principles that Itamar is passionate about are :

-Know your instrument, and work towards mastering the techniques of your instrument.

-Understand the theory behind the music- the doorway to better musicianship

Working on these will open up possibilities for you as a player in any style- Classical, Jazz etc.

About the lesson

Itamar has 30 years of teaching experience, both privately and in various music schools internationally.

Itamar's passion is bringing the joy of making music to each and every student!

Whether you are a beginner who's interested in learning the basics of piano playing, or you have been playing for years but feel that you are missing something... Perhaps you just lack the extra inspiration to continue on your musical path? Itamar is a patient and passionate teacher who is there to support your journey.

Itamar has a deep understanding of the classical tradition, as well as the latin and jazz musical worlds.

As a performer and composer, Itamar's music blends the delicateness of Middle Eastern music, the freedom found in jazz and the passion of flamenco, creating a unique sound all his own.

Recipient of the 2014 ACUM Prize for Special Achievement in Jazz and the prestigious 2014 Landau Prize, Itamar Erez is an internationally renowned composer and guitarist who has shared the stage with such musicians as Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Tomatito, Avishai Cohen, Jean-Louis Matinier, Zohar Fresco, and others.

Apart from his busy composing and touring life, Itamar is also teaching at the guitar, jazz and world music faculty at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School Of Music.
