About Maya
I am an IB Diploma candidate in 11th grade. I am in the DC area. I am currently taking IB HL Biology, which is the most rigorous biology class in my high school. I have a grade point average of 4.2. I enjoy interacting with and teaching children! I am also experienced in babysitting, so I have prior knowledge in relation to children.

A lesson plan would include real world examples and applications to foster the students understanding and visual demonstrations of the topics to engage students. I would facilitate discussion about the topic to ensure the students understanding. I'd end the lesson with a summary and possibly a fun quiz or review game to reinforce what we covered.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to relate to students and explain things to them on their level. As a high school student, I understand the challenges and pressures they face.
My lessons are for students struggling with science concepts (mainly biology, but for elementary students I am more flexible). I am open to tutoring grades K-10 in grade level science or intensified biology.
