About Sheila
I have been crocheting for five years and have taught right-handed and left-handed crochet. I started crocheting as a means of controlling anxiety attacks, and this has developed into a passion. I mainly make items for family or charity, such as gloves, beanies, and blankets, but I have also made dolls and amigurumi articles.
I have also been knitting (hand knitting, not machine) for 45 years - yes, I'm giving away my age! Although I do more crochet than knitting these days, I still knit the occasional charity item or jersey.

Lessons can be online (Zoom or Teams); however, the first few lessons should be in person so that the correct technique can be learned from the start.
I offer left- and right-handed classes and can provide written instructions, photos, and links to useful sites.
The pace of the lessons can be as fast or slow as you'd like; I adjust my teaching style to each student.

- It was such a pleasure, and such fun, to teach Shaakir. He is eager to learn and sets his own pace for learning, which makes teaching so much easier. Details
The first lesson is free and is 30 minutes long. This session aims to understand what you expect from the lessons and plan subsequent lessons.
Subsequent lessons will be R125/lesson, payable in advance or on the day.
The lessons do not include materials; the first lesson will consist of a loan of crochet hooks/knitting needles and the first ball of wool. If you can't provide your own tools and materials, I'll discuss that cost in the first lesson.
