About Chantel
"Working with intermediate learners keeps my teaching practice grounded in real progress. I have spent 11 years balancing my life as a performer in the New York Philharmonic with a dedicated teaching schedule.
My own journey started at age 5, with the piano serving as my constant second study alongside the violin. This dual perspective helps me explain chord voicing and rhythm to those returning to the instrument after a long break.
I hold an MMus Violin Performance degree, which informs how I analyze the mechanics of music for all my students. I have taught 428 students, and I genuinely enjoy seeing how they navigate the transition from simple melodies to complex arrangements.
