About Natalie

Hi, I'm Natalie! I am an active interior design practitioner with dual international qualifications from the Interior Design Institute and the Italian Design Institute (Luxury Interior Design framework).

My path into design is uniquely multifaceted—prior to launching my running design practice, I spent 20 years practising as a corporate legal consultant (holding an LLB from Rhodes University). I also bring an exciting edge to environmental psychology, having collaborated with Kelly LaPlante on interdisciplinary research interviewing astronauts and space psychologists to map out human-centred design principles for lunar and Mars habitats.

I understand how to blend complex spatial planning theories with everyday operational realities. I love helping the next generation of designers bridge the gap between classroom design school briefs and real-world commercial success!

About the lesson

I do not believe in rigid, dry lecturing. Because I actively run Pepperpot Interior Designs, my online mentoring sessions function exactly like a collaborative real-world design studio. Whether you are a university student preparing a thesis layout or a new freelancer figuring out client onboarding, my lessons are highly interactive and goal-oriented.

What we focus on in our sessions:

• 2D Floor Plans & Space Planning: Master spatial flow, furniture layouts, clearance zones, and functional circulation.

• Kitchen Design & Vertical Elevations: Learn how to draft precise, ergonomic kitchen layouts and clean vertical elevations (pulling up walls, doors, windows, and cabinetry placement).

• Moodboarding & Canva: Perfect your visual storytelling, sample curation, and digital client presentations.

• Design Business Logic: Learn how to align creative design layouts with professional proposals, watertight client contracts, and legal compliance.

My goal is to build your creative execution and your business confidence in a supportive, friendly, and highly encouraging virtual space!
