In my studies, I researched various time periods and civilizations and took the time to analyze and interpret how historical events helped shape our world today. My tutoring approach centers on active, inquiry-based learning. Instead of lecturing, I guide you to discover concepts through problem-solving and critical thinking. I adapt my pace, tone, and explanations to your specific learning style, ensuring that difficult topics are broken down into intuitive, manageable ideas.
A typical lesson plan would include a short lecture of 5-10 minutes on the topic of the great depression. We would then, in small groups, break out to analyze primary source materials such as a diary of someone living in 1929. We would finish as a class by putting our newfound information together to form a timeline showing the different events in a real-world example. The use of an exit ticket could be used as a formative assessment to check how the students understood the topic.
