About Taran
I have gained my experience in varied practical roles in various schools in and around London. I have taught core subjects to ages 6 to 16. I regard my work as a vocation than a job. Within my teaching, if required, I use my advocacy skills so students can understand themselves better to build self-awareness and put their best foot forward. Over the years, I think, alot has changed in education - mentoring has become imperative. I am a strong believer in understanding ‘how’ children learn and ‘what’ motivates them. My theme of nurturing, engaging and challenge runs parallel in my mind whilst working; I position myself in a way that I only get the ‘best’ out of my pupils because I truly believe, every child is an achiever.
In most of my jobs, besides teaching, I identified reasons behind poor performance and lack of motivation at school. I know my time with my students is ultimately brief, so I try to make as much of a positive impact as possible through example and instruction.
With 40 years of experience behind me, I now regard myself as a veteren teacher. I have to say, I gained oceans of experience through my own proven-practical-empirical research than my formal training and am still learning in this fast changing world of education.

I have two grandchildren, 10 and years old and are currently being tutored by Ms Hans in English and Maths. Since the start of tutoring, there has been a significant improvement in the level of understandings of the basic concepts. In addition Ms Hans has trained them a number of critical skills and techniques to help learn better.
