My teaching approach is grounded in active reading and guided discovery. I begin by having students read the lesson material to the best of their ability, then gently correct mispronunciations and have them re-read the passage flawlessly to build fluency and confidence. Next, I identify challenging vocabulary, asking students if they are familiar with each word; if not, I provide clear, simple definitions with contextual examples.
Following comprehension, I guide students to analyze the text critically, encouraging them to draw connections, infer meaning, and articulate their own interpretations. To reinforce learning, I incorporate real-life scenarios that relate directly to the topic, making abstract concepts tangible and memorable. For retention, I employ repetitive reading combined with targeted questioning, prompting students to recall information and apply it through their own examples.
Ultimately, my goal extends beyond academic mastery. I cultivate creative and analytical thinking, challenging students to move beyond textbook limitations and explore multiple perspectives. I also weave in meaningful life lessons, helping them develop not only as learners but as thoughtful, reflective individuals prepared for real-world challenges.
