I am a singer/songwriter based in Brighton, UK. I have also previously spent a few years in India learning and performing Indian music.
My approach to teaching music is to make it as enjoyable as possible for the student while teaching them the skills required.

In my teaching of Indian vocal music, I prioritize a holistic approach that encompasses both tradition and innovation. Central to my method is instilling a deep understanding and appreciation for the rich heritage of Indian classical music while encouraging creative exploration and expression.
I believe in fostering a strong foundation in the fundamental concepts such as Swara (notes), Raga (melodic framework), Tala (rhythmic cycle), and Bhava (emotional expression), which form the backbone of this musical tradition.
My teaching style is highly personalized, tailored to the unique needs and aspirations of each student. I emphasize the importance of rigorous practice coupled with introspection, encouraging students to delve into the essence of each composition with their own interpretation and emotion. I aim to make learning music a dynamic and engaging experience, nurturing not only technical proficiency but also a profound connection with the art form's cultural and spiritual roots.
I have studied Indian Music for over 10 years including classical as well as light music like bollywood and ghazals. I have also been performing for over 5 years.
The music lessons will be tailored to the student's needs and will be interactive and engaging.
