About Jose

I’m a native Spanish speaker from South America (Peru) with experience teaching Spanish to English speakers. My approach focuses on real communication, helping students speak Spanish naturally and confidently from day one. I believe in learning through conversation rather than complicated grammar rules, making my lessons interactive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to improve your fluency, I’m here to guide you on your Spanish learning journey!

About the lesson

We start speaking Spanish from the very first class! Even if you don’t know many words or have no prior knowledge of the language, don’t worry! In the first lesson, we’ll learn plenty of vocabulary and useful phrases that you can start using right away to communicate in Spanish. You’ll be surprised at how much you can learn in just one class and how quickly you progress in the language. Most of my students used to think they had to learn grammar first before they could start speaking. Since they didn’t fully understand it, they would get frustrated and give up. However, from the very first lesson, they realised that it’s possible to start speaking Spanish and have fluent conversations without mastering every grammar rule. I also believe that the most important things are patience and maintaining a steady passion for learning, which help us keep progressing without giving up. That’s why my lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, goals, and the time they can dedicate to learning Spanish. The classes are dynamic and highly interactive. I encourage my students to not be afraid of making mistakes because mistakes are a great way to learn. Taking risks and experimenting with the language are key to mastering it!

Perfect! I was specifically looking for a Latin American tutor as it is a culture I'm familiar with. After a lot of searching I found Jose and we had face to face and online lessons. Jose explained his methodology from the beginning and together we built lively lessons and I had a lot of fun. Jose was excellent at explaining what is acceptable from formal to informal Spanish for different situations. Jose used multi-media for teaching, which worked very well. I believe he has a bright future in tutoring
