About John Jobert
I’m a 2100 Rapid and 2000 Blitz online player offering structured, long-term chess coaching for beginners to intermediate players. My teaching is centered around live analysis of students’ own games, using voice and screen sharing to clearly explain ideas, plans, and common mistakes in real time. Sessions are organized and focused, covering openings, middlegames, and endgames as they naturally arise from the position.
To support steady improvement, I provide homework after each session and short exercises before sessions begin, so students always know what to work on and how to prepare. My approach emphasizes understanding, consistency, and disciplined thinking rather than memorizing lines or shortcuts. I take coaching seriously and aim to create a professional, respectful learning environment where students can improve confidently over time.

I recommend this person, I know how dedicated he is when it comes to sharing his knowledge in chess. I love how he explains the concept like you will understand it even if you're just new in chess.
I connected with my chess tutor through Reddit and we’ve had about 10 lessons so far.
The lessons feel calm and well paced. We usually go through my own games, which makes everything more practical and easier to understand. Concepts are explained clearly, without rushing or talking down to you, and if something is confusing we just take the time to look at it again from another angle.
I’ve noticed real improvement in how I think during games and how confident I feel making decisions. Overall it’s been a very positive experience and I’d happily recommend these lessons to anyone who wants to improve in a supportive and relaxed way.
