Active learning is the one most important thing I've learned to implement - it saves time and effort (and paper and ink!). I know people learn things differently, so as someone who's open to change, I can adapt many different approaches to teaching, e.g. drawing more for students who are visual learners, or speaking more to audio learners, or providing more resources to people who prefer to learn passively. I will go through the lesson using the white board firstly, and then ask the student questions on the matter to gauge areas of potential difficulty. Once that's done, I will tailor specific past paper questions and provide them to help them practice, as well as help them with flashcards, podcasts and other resources. I am very receiving of constructive criticism and will do my best to make sure students get the most out of the lessons whilst also enjoying them! Finally, prepping for medical school interviews on your own can be quite stressful. Firstly, it is so important to have a strong personal statement to reflect what the student has achieved and wants to achieve. So I think gauging exactly what the particular medical school is looking for and then working on it and focusing on that as well as interview techniques later on can be quite useful.
