About Rishav
My journey in the field of biology began during my childhood, where I spent countless hours exploring nature, observing creatures, and asking questions about the world around me. This early curiosity evolved into a deep fascination with biology and a determination to understand the intricacies of life on Earth. Throughout my academic journey, I pursued a bachelor's degree in Botany, followed by a Master's in Biotechnology from IIT Indore. I am an incoming Ph.D. student in Neuroscience at the University College Dublin and the University of Bern. Alongside my formal education, I engaged in various research projects, which further fueled my passion for discovery and learning. However, it was during my time as a teaching assistant that I discovered my true calling – to inspire and educate the next generation of biologists. As a biology teacher, my primary goal is to ignite that same sense of wonder and curiosity that sparked my interest in the subject. I firmly believe that biology is not just a subject to be studied within the four walls of a classroom; it is a discipline that permeates our daily lives. Whether it's the complexity of a single cell or the interconnectedness of ecosystems, understanding biology enriches our understanding of ourselves and the world we live in. Through engaging lectures, hands-on experiments, and thought-provoking discussions, I hope to create a dynamic learning environment where every student can thrive and explore their own scientific potential. My aim is not just to impart facts, but to nurture critical thinking skills, scientific inquiry, and a love for lifelong learning.

With an MS from IIT Indore and a passion for teaching, I am committed to making biology an engaging and accessible subject for all my students.
In my classroom, I foster a dynamic and interactive learning environment. I believe that students learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process. As such, my teaching techniques revolve around a combination of lectures, active discussions, hands-on experiments, presentations, and educational games. I use real-world examples and case studies to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications, making biology relevant and exciting.
Each class typically begins with a brief recap of the previous session to reinforce key concepts. Then, I introduce new topics, breaking them down into manageable chunks with clear explanations. During the lecture, I encourage students to ask questions and participate actively. Afterward, we engage in group discussions or activities to deepen their understanding.
One of my core strengths lies in my ability to tailor my teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles. I recognize that each student is unique, and I strive to provide individual attention to address their specific needs. I am patient, approachable, and empathetic, creating a safe space for students to ask questions without hesitation.
Furthermore, I believe in fostering curiosity and instilling a love for biology beyond the textbooks. By sharing the latest scientific discoveries and developments, I inspire my students to explore the field further, nurturing lifelong learners.
