I make it a point to teach a student from the perspective of an equal, and not that of a teacher. By putting myself in your shoes I can come up with the best way to approach a topic so that it sticks forever.
I use teaching aids like mnemonic devices, fun visuals and stories so that the learning process doesn't feel like learning at all, more like a chat with a friend after which you just so happen to be more knowledgeable.
