About Delyth

I am a former professional actress of 25 years and a UK secondary school Head of Drama with a BA Honours from the University of London and a PGCE. I hold specialised certifications in 120-hour TEFL, Business English, and IELTS teaching. By combining expert theatrical performance techniques with rigorous exam frameworks, I help international professionals conquer exam nerves and master IELTS Speaking fluency.

About the lesson

Do you know the answers, but freeze when the examiner starts the timer? Do you run out of things to say in Part 2, or panic when the follow-up questions in Part 3 come at you?

The IELTS Speaking test isn't only a language test. It's a live performance under pressure. As a former professional actress trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama, I teach you the techniques performers use to stay calm, think on their feet and sound confident, combined with a clear understanding of what examiners are listening for.

Your free 30-minute first lesson:
We'll do a short mock Speaking test. I'll give you an honest estimate of your current level and show you the two or three changes that will make the biggest difference to your score.

In our 60-minute sessions you will:

Practise realistic Speaking questions under exam conditions
Learn a simple structure for Part 2, so you can speak for the full two minutes without running out of ideas
Handle unexpected Part 3 questions naturally, instead of freezing or repeating yourself
Use your voice, pace and pauses to sound fluent and confident, even when you're thinking
Receive clear feedback linked to the four marking criteria: fluency and coherence, vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation

Who I work best with:
Intermediate to advanced learners, including university applicants, professionals and visa candidates, who have the English but struggle to show it under pressure.

Lessons take place online by webcam. Packs of 5 and 10 hours are available if you'd like a structured preparation plan before your test date.

Delyth is a very good teacher! She’s talented and understands her students very well. Not your stereotypical teacher, but applies knowledge in a different way which makes it stick!
