About Heath

What I help with:
1. My specialty is Honours students looking to advance to Masters and Clinical pathways (I also do Interview Preparation).
2. Statistical analyses, including SPSS, Jamovi, JASP and writing results. ANOVA, Regression, Chi-square, Pearson/Spearman correlation, factors, assumptions, missing data, groups, research design.
3. Assessment tools, including Cochrane RoB 2, biopsychosocial, various scales, diagnoses, interventions, neuroimaging, behavioural assessments.

4. APA 7 compliant, helping you maximise your overall results.
5. I am very strong at theoretical and practical implications.

I am a PhD Graduate (Monash, Caulfield, Australia) with 9 plus years teaching experience at Monash and The University of Melbourne. I have worked in China and at other universities. Within the University system, I am a highly rated tutor with scores of 4.90 + out of 5.
I am highly regarded and ranked in the top percentiles of any tutors

My students get results, while no guarantees you may be pleasantly surprised. I know the University system inside-out- the rubric, the mindset of the marker, and I assure you that you will maximise all your learning opportunities with me (however there are no guarantees yet the success of my students speaks to my methods). I am ethical, compliant, helpful in every way I can be and invested in your success. In this age of AI I also work to support you and encourage your learning using multiple evidence-based approaches.

I am known to all Australian universities and have tutored students from 21 of Australia's 42 universities. I also have tutored privately to students in the US, Canada, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

All students - ages and backgrounds welcome. I teach mature age and first year students.
I am familiar with special education students, including ADHD, autism, neurodiverse, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, auditory, language, nonverbal and visual perceptual /visual motor deficits.

Strong personal interest in psychology. The subject fascinates me, to be honest!

I am first in my extended family to achieve a PhD. I understand the challenges of study at all levels, and have learned some useful strategies to help you study with confidence. I have completed much required cultural training and am always seeking to learn about culture.

NOTE

I am happy to work with clients in all countries including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Singapore, United Kingdom, United States, Asia and Europe.
We can use Zoom Captions and I can record sessions with your consent.

Note: When you find my listing here, please contact me. This helps schedule your future lesson into my calendar, and allows me to assist you with the maximum amount of time possible.

I have 25 years of business and management experience prior to first starting teaching (I started my first computer software business at the age of 14). I grew up in a family business that is well-known around Australia (and parts of the world). I have worked in finance, advertising, my own businesses, as a State Manager, as a sales manager, and I’ve sold to all manner of people and executives. I have worked in Australia and China, and globally. I have developed extensive knowledge of how managers work, think and what they are seeking from employees.

First of all, the hourly rate is not strictly 60 minutes. I am happy to go 5-10 minutes over time, and with many long term clients I do not "clock watch" strictly. The main benefit of working with me is the likelihood of higher results (I have proven this many times over with clients of all kinds).

Assignments: I will ask you to email me the Assignment, Instructions and the Rubric. I know the Rubric language intimately, I have marked THOUSANDS of assessments in the University system and now in my private business.

Thesis: I can provide a second set of eyes to help you with the final stages of writing up your Results and Discussion sections, as well as the Final Chapter. I can also comment on the literature review, Methods and Introduction. My students report they get high results.

How lessons run: You can present your work, and ask questions. We can work from shared documents and other technologies.

How I teach: Based on my experience with University teaching, and feedback from my students, my methods are engaging, challenging and developmental for you. I ask questions and use prompts to encourage you.
