About Angus
Hi! My name is Angus and I am a passionate aspiring humanities teacher starting my first year of university.
During high school, I was an avid chess player, champion debater, and Model United nations competitor as well as an all-around humanities nerd.
I love to teach because I get to, not only engage with the subjects I enjoyed, but become invested in my student's goals. My relaxed but practical approach allows lessons to be fun while we meet and exceed your goals!

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated recent high school graduate who has two years of tutoring and teaching experience. I have a strong background in classroom teaching, individual student mentoring, and curriculum design. My experience extends to all ages, from Primary school up to and including year 12.
I currently work at Talent 100 as an English mentor as well as do casual work for many other tutoring centers.
I received an ATAR of 98.65 and received Band 6's/E4's in 7 subjects including a 49/50 in English Extension 2 and a 48/50 in History Extension.
My lessons run anywhere between 1 and 3 hours depending on what my students want and I specialize in teaching years 7-12. My attitude towards tutoring is to simultaneously foster an interest in any subject I teach, while also setting clear goals and always being practical in achieving them.
I take all my private students seriously. I mark as many practice questions or papers as they want, provide targeted support for each individual assessment task, and do my own behind-the-scenes work on all their texts/topics, making sure I understand them as well as their classroom teacher would. No matter your current academic results or future goals I will work with you.
