About Roxy
Hi, I'm Roxy! I'm an Honors Bachelor of Science graduate from the University of Toronto with a passion for making complex subjects feel approachable and manageable. My academic background spans the sciences and languages, giving me the versatility to support students across a wide range of subjects including Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Physics, Microbiology, Immunology, English, and French.
I believe that every student has the ability to succeed — sometimes they just need the right person to help things click. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and fully adaptable to each individual learner. I take the time to understand your unique strengths and challenges so that every session feels relevant and productive, never like a one-size-fits-all experience.
Beyond my degree, I bring real-world experience working with diverse communities of all ages, including volunteer work in hospital settings, which has shaped me into a calm, empathetic, and dependable communicator. Whether you're navigating a tough first-year course or trying to build a stronger foundation before university, I'm here to support you every step of the way.

My approach to tutoring is rooted in meeting each student where they are. Before diving into content, I take the time to understand how a student learns best — whether that's through visuals, practice problems, analogies, or step-by-step breakdowns — and I build customized lesson plans tailored to their specific needs, goals, and course material. No two students are the same, and I believe their lessons shouldn't be either.
A typical session begins with a quick check-in to review what the student has been working on and identify any areas of confusion. From there, we work through the material together using clear explanations, real-world examples, and targeted practice questions. I always leave time at the end of each session to summarize key takeaways and set goals for next time.
What sets me apart is my academic background combined with my ability to communicate complex ideas in simple, digestible ways. As an Honors Bachelor of Science graduate from the University of Toronto, I have a strong command of the subjects I teach — including Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Physics, Microbiology, Immunology, English, and French. More importantly, I genuinely enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects they find challenging.
My lessons are designed for high school students and lower-level undergraduate students, including those in first and second year university courses.
