About Lake
My name is Lake! I am a graduate from McGill University with an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, and minor concentration in Linguistics. I thoroughly enjoyed my degree, and love reading and writing in my spare time.
I believe in criticism that is only ever constructive, so while I have a critical eye, and am highly detail-oriented, I will never tear anyone down. On the other hand, I don't believe that anyone is inherently "bad at" anything; all skills can be learned. Choosing me as your tutor means you'll get a kind, patient and supportive learning environment, where you're still pushed to learn and improve.

In writing, I focus on three core qualities every good essay should have:
1. A well-defended, consistently present thesis, or core idea
2. Clarity and specificity of language and information
3. Structure and general readability.
What sets me apart? I am an academically published author, and also completed my Honors Thesis in Anthropology. My critical analysis, language, and writing skills are extremely strong.
I'll create a lesson plan suited to your needs; whether you have an essay to write and need help starting from scratch, or just need someone to proofread and provide edits and suggestions on an already existing draft, I'm up to the task.
I am happy to take on students at the high school and undergraduate university/college level.
