About Aidan

Hi, I'm Aidan! I'm a 19-year-old student in Sydney, NS, and I've spent more than a decade of my life avidly pursuing historical knowledge on every period and topic that I can get my hands on. My knowledge ranges from the recent to the unbelievably ancient - you will never find someone else my age as knowledgable about the construction of the pyramids as I am.

About the lesson

I'm a very flexible instructor. I look to engage my students in conversation about the subject first and foremost and make it as interesting as possible because I know that the human brain is far more likely to latch onto knowledge if it's presented in an interesting way. I'm charismatic enough that by the end of a casual conversation with me almost everyone has learned something new.

I'm looking to tutor almost entirely online. Regardless of what aspect of history you're needing to learn, even if it's something I haven't even heard of before, if you send me a summary ahead of time and give me a couple of days of warning, then by the time the tutoring session comes around I'll have gained enough knowledge on the topic to talk at length about it and ask questions that are likely to show up on a test.

I look to have students actively engaging in the tutoring session, i.e. taking notes and/or asking questions. At the end of the tutoring session, I'll ask you a few questions about what we've been talking about to gauge your understanding, and then I'll tell you whether I think you're test-ready.

Details

Students in 9th grade or lower have rates reduced to $15 an hour.

If you've already paid for multiple hours and decide to cancel partway through, I'll refund you a proportional amount to the number of hours remaining. (e.g. if you have paid for 5 hours and use only 3 before canceling, you'll be refunded two-fifths of your payment, coming to $32 in this example case.)
