About Piya

I am a dedicated 15-year-old high school honor roll student with a strong passion for mathematics. Throughout the school year, I maintained top grades in my math classes, contributed heavily to academic discussions, and frequently took on leadership roles in the classroom. Leading my classmates has taught me how to explain complex ideas clearly, listen patiently, and keep lessons encouraging. Parents can trust that I am reliable, organized, and entirely focused on helping their children build real math confidence this summer. You can trust that I know my subject very well because I am still in schooling and all the math is very fresh in my mind. In addition to mathematics, I am fully qualified to teach middle school and Grade 9–10 sciences, including chemistry and biology, as well as high school level math.

Summer Head-Start Sessions:
Don't let your child experience the 'summer slide' and forget their math foundations. I am offering targeted July prep sessions to keep Grade 10 concepts fresh, ensuring they start September with total confidence and zero learning loss. As a high achiever myself, I love making a genuine difference by passing my passion for math forward. My goal is to help your child unleash their full potential, build unstoppable confidence, and become a high achiever possibly too. My goal is to make you fall in love with math because grades don't matter everybody has their bad days but that does not define you as soon as you are able to understand the language of it I can guarantee it to you that with practice you can aim for perfection.

Why Your Child Needs a Head Start This Summer:

Did you know that research shows high school students lose an average of 20% to 30% of their math learning over the summer break? When September hits, it takes teachers at least a month of re-teaching in the fall just to get students back to where they were in June.Math builds like a ladder, and the curriculum moves instantly. While a Grade 11 teacher may spend two or three days quickly skimming over quadratics, they will not teach you word problems and algebra tricks the way your past grade teacher did. They assume you already know the tricks perfectly on day one. If your child enters the classroom with that 30% summer gap, they will immediately feel left behind and overwhelmed trying to guess how to solve complex test questions. My tutoring approach eliminates this math anxiety entirely. We quietly patch up those missing foundational gaps while introducing upcoming topics in a simple, step-by-step way. I teach students exactly how to break down complex word problems using plain language so they can build genuine confidence and motivation. Instead of wasting a month playing catch-up or guessing on tests, they will step into the new semester fully prepared to stay ahead of the teacher.

The Real High School Strategy:
Turning Frustration into a 95%-98% From my own experience on the honor roll, I know that there very high standards you have to aim for close to perfection and try to make the least errors. Weeknights are completely packed with projects and assignments. Even if you try to do your homework in the classroom during the day, it is often too loud and distracting to focus properly. By the time you get home in the mid-evening, change, and chill for a bit, you are absolutely not in the mood to learn new stuff or do heavy brain work. The biggest problem is that completing your daily homework is just the beginning—it is the bare minimum. To get those top marks, you have to study way more. Teachers love to put complex word problems on the unit tests that they never explicitly mention or teach during regular homework. That is why my friend Megan and I often talked about how studying on the weekends is the ultimate secret. I am definitely not a perfectionist—I have had those times when I got a 70% and felt deeply frustrated. But instead of giving up, I used that frustration as fuel. I dedicated my weekends to mastering those unmentioned word problems, making myself capable enough to bounce right back and score a 95% on the actual unit test. I teach my students this exact blueprint so they can build that same resilience, channel their frustration into success, and confidently unlock their highest potential

Lifelong Dedicated Student: Studying intensively since 4th grade and mastered independent, self-teaching frameworks during COVID.

Exam-Focused Methods: I teach time-saving, equation-based shortcuts (like coordinate geometry rules) to bypass frustrating textbook
roadblocks.

Proven Foundations: Specializing in Algebra, Geometry, Arithmetic, and Chemistry.

I use an interactive online whiteboard to break down math problems step-by-step. Because I am a high school student, I explain concepts in a simple, relatable way without confusing jargon. We will review homework and practice problems patiently together until mastery. I will make sure that the problems make sense and try various methods to explain the problem based on whether your child is more of a visual learner, auditory, or kinesthetic learner. I helped to explain Grade 10 math problems step-by-step. I specialize heavily in simplifying quadratics—including factoring, vertex form conversions, and solving tricky real-world word problems. These are the foundations to doing more advanced careers and we will work on building confidence in a stress free environment so your child gains better problem solving skills and sees a spark in math just like I did.
