About Rachel
I'm a holistic health coach, yoga teacher, and psychologist on a mission to help people celebrate who they are and manifest their greatest potential through movement, nourishment, mindset, and the greatest health of their lives.
I have had the opportunity to explore and influence motivation, health, and well-being both as an academic researcher and in the field. I am passionate about understanding what makes people tick, and leveraging that knowledge along with the power of relationship to help people rock their goals and lead happier, more meaningful lives.
Working in the health & wellness space fulfills my purpose by allowing me the opportunity to be part of people’s journeys as they grow in mind, body, and spirit. • Goal Coaching
My approach to behavior change and habit formation stem from my own personal research as a psychologist at the University of Chicago as well as from "atomic" or "tiny" habit scaffolding inspired by BJ Fogg and James Clear. Not only do I help you incorporate tactical tools and strategies into your life from my findings in the field of self-control - but I help you dig into the root of your character and values and help you fundamentally shift your way of being in the direction of your goals.
• Yoga
My yoga teaching philosophy is a combination of Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Bhakti methodologies. I obtained my first 200 -hour certification in the heart of the Yoga tradition in India in 2016, then obtained a second 200-hour through Nature Yoga Sanctuary in Chicago, IL where I lived and taught for the last 3 years. I have experience working with people aged 13 to 75, both with years of experience in the practice and who are on the mat for the first time. I take a patient, gentle, approach to breath and movement.
• Nutrition Coaching
I partner with people to help them incorporate whole, organic, minimally processed, sustainably and responsibly sourced foods into their diet. I fully appreciate that each body has different needs, and I work with my clients to discover, by experimentation, what works best for their unique human. My approach is inspired by Paul Chek's Primal Pattern Diet Typing.
• Endurance Training
I take a lower-volume, longevity-oriented, balanced approach in my endurance training - incorporating functional strength and mobility to help you avoid common overuse injuries associated with repetitive movements like running, swimming, and biking. Most of my clients practice their specific sport no more than 3x per week - focusing on balancing their traditional, longer sustained efforts with fast, track-style anaerobic sprint efforts. My approach helps people retain their muscle, improve their stamina, hit their timing (or finishing!) goals, and avoid injuries.
