As a tutor, my approach centers on engagement, discussion, and critical thinking. I believe history is not just about memorizing dates—it's about understanding the stories, causes, and consequences that shape our world. I’m currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in History at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), and I bring both academic rigor and enthusiasm to every session.
My Teaching Method & Techniques:
I use a discussion-based and student-led approach. Instead of lectures, I encourage active participation through guided questions, debates, and historical roleplay when appropriate. I also tailor lessons to a student’s learning style—whether visual, auditory, or kinesthetic—and incorporate maps, timelines, and primary sources to make concepts stick.
A Typical Lesson Plan:
5 minutes: Warm-up question to spark critical thinking
15–20 minutes: Overview of the topic using a mix of storytelling, visuals, and discussion
20 minutes: Deep dive—analyzing a document, comparing viewpoints, or exploring a historical debate
10 minutes: Review and discussion of what was learned, followed by tips for homework or exams
What Sets Me Apart:
I don’t just teach history—I help students connect it to today. I’m passionate about helping others develop a love for the subject through meaningful conversations and a focus on context over memorization. My background as both a student and someone actively working toward a history degree means I understand what teachers and professors are looking for—and I help students meet those expectations with confidence.
Who the Lessons Are For:
I tutor high school and early college students (Grades 9–College 200-level), especially those taking U.S., European, or World History. Whether you're prepping for the AP exam, writing a college essay, or just trying to pass a tough class, I can help you build understanding and boost your grades.
