About Lindsay

Clear Instruction. Steady Support. Real Progress. I am an experienced History teacher and former School Improvement Specialist with a proven record of helping students strengthen their academic skills, increase confidence, and improve test performance. With over a decade of experience in education, I understand how to break down complex content into clear, manageable steps and support students in developing study routines that truly work for them. I specialize in History, test preparation, reading comprehension, essay writing, and study skills. My approach is structured, patient, and encouraging. I meet students where they are and guide them forward with practical strategies, consistent support, and positive reinforcement. Students leave each session knowing what they learned, how to practice it, and exactly what to do next. I am committed to creating a learning environment where students feel safe to try, make mistakes, ask questions, and grow. I look forward to helping your student build confidence and succeed.

About the lesson

My Tutoring Approach

I focus on helping students understand the material, stay organized, and feel confident in their learning. I break information into manageable steps and teach students how to study, not just what to study. My goal is for students to leave each session knowing exactly what to do next.

How I Teach

I use clear explanations, guided practice, and simple tools like note organizers, recall prompts, and study checklists. We work at a steady, comfortable pace, and I always check for understanding before moving on. I also help students build effective routines so they don’t feel overwhelmed before tests or deadlines.

Typical Session Structure

Quick check-in and review of last session

Step-by-step instruction of the new concept or assignment

Practice together (questions, review, or writing support)

End with a simple study plan for the week

What Sets Me Apart

My background as a History Teacher and School Improvement Specialist allows me to support both academic content and the skills behind success—like organization, note-taking, time management, and test-taking strategy. I meet students where they are and encourage progress, not perfection.

Who I Work With

I tutor middle school, high school, and college students who need help with history, test preparation, writing, or developing strong study habits.
