About Esther
I am an undergraduate history student at the University of Oxford studying History. I myself did not come from a background where intellectualism was drilled into me and thus understand the challenges students may face when attempting to learn and apply knowledge. For this reason, I am an incredibly friendly and supportive tutor. I have great experience in tutoring students, and have seen much improvement amongst all the students I have tutored in the past.

I am approachable and friendly with lots of experience in tutoring within my previous school for those studying their GCSEs. Typically, lessons from a 30 minute - 1 hour length would cover content a student may find particularly confusing, explaining this to the student, and then asking them to unpick this themselves with me, going over past essay questions, and providing them with the knowledge of how to use this information in an examination context. I find many students who know the content at a very high level, however are not attuned to how this must be applied in examinations. Thus, I prioritise the teaching of how to apply knowledge to a question rather than simply knowing the facts. I have seen many students increase by 3-4 grades just from taking this on and gaining a better understanding of application. I also have ample resources to provide students with which they can use outside of lessons.
