About Ellie-May
I have not given private lessons before, however I would like to help A-Level and undergraduate students achieve their goals. Higher education can be tough due to the new types of learning environments and styles such as lecturing and self-education.
Furthermore, developing academic skills can be challenging, especially for undergraduates and A-Level students. These skills include academic essay writing, knowing and choosing historical research methods and developing original and strong arguments. These skills are not always developed at GCSE level and school, therefore it is vital that students develop these skills in order to succeed in academic arenas.

I am currently studying history (MRes) at the Univeristy of Portsmouth. I provide lessons to undergraduates and A-level students. Lessons will help improve essay writing skills and assist in developing sound historical arguments. The student will write a small essay for each session. Lessons, can therefore, revolve around essays the student has written, concentrating on their problem areas by discussing their work and reworking the essay together.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
Ellie is friendly, patient and very easy to get on with.
She is very thorough when helping others with their work, especially within history but knowledge of essay/argument structure and grammar is great across the board.
She is excellent at targeting exactly what a question is asking, using sources to argue her point and maintaining a strong 'own voice'.
She has been a blessing to study beside.View more recommendations
