About Alexandra
My name's Alexandra and I graduated with first class honours in History from the University of Sussex. The first thing you should know about me is how truly passionate I am about history. I think this is really important as it creates a really solid foundation for my abilities as a tutor and I would love to share my passion for the subject with others by supporting students to achieve their full potential. My education was not without complications; I acknowledge that learning can be incredibly difficult but I also know that it can be incredibly fulfilling and I aim to prove that in my lessons and in the way I choose to tutor my students. Every lesson is focused completely on the student with an emphasis on providing an environment and educational plan perfect for the individual. I hope that with my help, my students can not only reach the academic goals they hope for but also enjoy themselves in the process.

I studied History at the University of Sussex, graduating with a first class honours. My degree covered a variety of time periods, countries and continents and this allowed me to develop a very varied knowledge although my main area of study was the Renaissance. This is very useful in regards to tutoring; the history curriculum at both GCSE and A Level is broad and usually requires students to study various topics across multiple time periods. I think it's very important to recognise that every student learns differently and it's vital that the student and tutor work together to make sure that the student gets the most out of the experience. My lessons would therefore be designed specifically around what suits the individual student best, whether that be in the form of lectures, discussions or Q&A's. I take the same approach in regards to the typical length of the lesson; I'm aware that some students would prefer shorter lessons whereas others may value longer ones. I take a relaxed approach in my lessons and try to create a positive, rewarding environment for students to learn, in which they feel comfortable and supported.
