About Murray
I am a history graduate with experience teaching in high schools and colleges in England and Spain. I have taught larger groups and lead one to one sessions to help students develop their critical thinking - a useful skill for all essay-based subjects!
As an enthusiastic and naturally friendly person, I get along with people easily and I have exceptional communication skills. I have an extended DBS check and love working with students to help them achieve their goals.

I am geared towards teaching critical thinking and how to answer exam questions, but anything History or English related suits me!
For the lessons I will spend my own time reading up on your topic and then make an appropriate lesson plan that best suits your needs.
In lesson we will pool any initial thoughts and ideas together so there is a base level of knowledge to work from before we move into any details or analysis.
Once we have a solid basis we can move into evaluating sources and assessing specifics as we start to give some shape and body to your argument.
We can then consider how our discussion can be transferred onto paper, and think about how you are actually going to communicate your argument in an answer.
Breaking the sessions down into stages helps the task of essay writing or source analysis feel a lot less daunting, and it has proven effective in my experiences!
