About Philippa
Currently I am a high school Teaching Assistant with a passion for education and working with young people. I have worked in an educational setting for the past two years, and I am a prospective PGCE student for September 2025.
My passion for history stems from my GCSE and A Level History teacher, who not only enhanced my fascination with the subject but also inspired me to teach. I am committed and well-prepared to being an effective tutor.
Working in GCSE classes has given my key insights into understanding successful methods for adaptive teaching; knowing the specific needs of the students informed my planning, leading me to provide accessible, digitized resources and collaborate with the students. It is rewarding to witness the student’s confidence grow through lessons that celebrate incremental achievements and encourage ongoing learning.

I have extensive knowledge and experience of differentiation practices to help teach in a way that suits your learning needs.
Lesson length can be between 30 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes.
I will utilise revision techniques and exam skills, as well as provide feedback for essay writing.
I have previously tutored an A Level history student with their coursework as well as currently teaching one-to-one GCSE English Language.
These lessons are aimed at KS3/4/5, those who feel they need a little bit of extra help with exams, revision techniques, or some outside feedback.
