About Jake
Hi, I am Jake and I am just entering my first year at Oxford to study History and Politics.
I have just finished my A-levels, so I know how stressful they can be, and still remember GCSEs well. I have spent the last two years delivering tuition sessions to students, predominantly in GCSE Maths, though I have previously done tuition and coaching in History and other History oriented subjects.
Regardless of where you are at in your understanding of history now, I can always help you do better, regardless of whether that is reviewing topics you may have found difficult, essay writing or simply revision.

I base my classes on the needs of the students first. A student will give me a subject that they feel they need help with, and I will work it through with them from first principles.
History, being a highly discursive subject, will largely be delivered through discussion of useful sources and events, and by an explanation of cause and effect. Lessons will feature many useful resources and will be angled towards note-taking and revision so that students will have a useful takeaway at the end of lessons, to help prepare them for their exams.
