About Joanna

I am a third-year university student with an A* in A-Level and GCSE English Literature and an A* in GCSE English Language. I have experience in private tutoring for public speaking, which has led to the success of my students at UK wide competitions. I am eager to help with any aspect or level of GCSE/A-Level English, but particularly poetry or Shakespeare. My two previous students both achieved the grades they aimed for - one achieved a strong middle grade having missed substantial amounts of school, while the other improved from a middle grade to an A*.

About the lesson

I provide lessons to GCSE English Literature / Language students and A-Level English Literature students. Whether the student is pushing for top grades or aims to solidify a pass, lessons can be tailored to the individual. We can focus on exam technique through past papers, build skills by analysing extracts of texts together, or practice learning material in other ways that suit the student. My methodology centres on patience. I aim to understand the unique learning style of the student in order to create a friendly but ambitious atmosphere that enables the student to believe that they can achieve their potential, and which gives them the tools with which to do so.
