About Katy
Who Am I?
I'm Katy, a high school student who looks to support and share her knowledge of English with others.
As a Grade 9 student, I connect with the academic struggles students face on a daily basis and would love to help the best I can with what's in my skillset.
While English is not my first language, it is the better of the two (I also speak Vietnamese, if you're wondering.) Having lived abroad for most of my life, my English is fluent and I do well in English classes academically.

Why Might I Be a Better Choice Compared to Other Options?
While some people might see my young age as a disadvantage and lack of experience, it is the opposite. At this tender age, I am not only more fresh with my experience of supporting other students with their work, but I can also form a better connection and communicate more effectively with peers and students close to my age.
What's My Teaching Method?
I strive to tackle specific subjects one at a time, making sure the student masters it before moving on to the next. There will be lots of revision in order to keep the knowledge locked in as we move along throughout the lessons. By using the advantage of being at a closer age, I can explain things in terms that may be easier for the student to understand. The lesson plan will be altered based on the student's grade/curriculum and their skill level, in order to make sure that they not only survive, but thrive in English at school and in life.
Who Can I Teach?
As I am currently a Grade 9 student, I can teach for anywhere ranging from Grade 9 and under. My main focus will be to help with students who are struggling with their school curriculum.
