About Tara

I have taught Nursery, Reception, KS1 and early KS2. My main aim is to inspire passion and a love for learning in all children, through a holistic approach to their development, accomodating for all needs and diversities in my practice. I also firmly believe that all teaching and learning should be fun.

I am particularly passionate about maths, technology and science, as a former KS1 Science teacher. As part of my role, I wish to promote equality within this field and seek to champion the role of women in STEM. I have also been responsible for administration and technological support of a range of digital educational platforms within the school, including Purple Mash, Tig Tag World and My Montessori Child.

I have experience with training and mentoring, in particular the areas of Behaviour Management and Positive Language. I am a former school tutor and mentor for a Early Career Teachers, as well as trainee PGCE student teachers.

About the lesson

I've been working in education for 15 years, 12 of which have been based in London in the independent sector. I have experience with teaching Nursery, Reception, KS1 and early KS2. I am currently Head of Lower School, KS1 Science Teacher and a Form 1&2 Class teacher at an independent school in North London, where I have taught using both the Montessori method of education, as well as more traditional approaches to learning.

I am passionate about science, maths and technology. I am a big advocate for positive mental health in children and in adults, and I firmly believe that teaching and learning should be fun. Developing independence, curiosity and a passion for learning in the children I teach is my highest priority. I happen to think that a good sense of humour doesn't hurt either!
