About Rohan

I am a team player and a collaborator first. What I look forward to is conversation, and discourse, so that together, real progress and discoveries may be made. You will find me a tutor who cares not just about your academic progress, but about what you specifically need to overcome your learning hurdles. I may not be the most academically bolstered tutor one may look for in the field of linguistics, but I am an incredibly well-versed, well-trained and experienced stage actor in English. Working on the stages of the world, it is inevitable that one will encounter the English language in all its forms. On stage, the work becomes to interpret, analyse, apply, and then speak the language to prove the writer's message - you will find an overlap here between the goals of the typical literature class. As a seasoned stage actor, I bring stories to life—skills that translate directly into interpreting literature with depth and clarity. I offer expert guidance in analysis, helping students unpack themes, language, and structure with precision. With a strong grasp of the PEEL format, I support clear, coherent arguments and effective essay writing. My creative background ensures lessons are engaging, insightful, and tailored to each student’s unique learning style.

About the lesson

A typical lesson would cover a piece of literature, be it dramatic, academic, or any other type, and a written assignment, which can be dissected to indicate areas for improvement. I would run these lessons in a very conversational, casual manner. The lesson would benefit from being student-led, so that self-awareness is gained by pointing out areas for further study in oneself. We would cover tools to analyse and interpret English literature, so that arguments can be made to support interpretive points in essays and other written assignments. We will cover essay-writing tools, such as PEEL format paragraphs, proper citation and formatting types for digital assessments, and how to effectively persuade a reader with your words. Any student aged 15-17 can benefit from these, as these are the formative ages for students developing their own voice in writing and interpretation.
