About Waqar
I am a highly qualified and currently practicing Biology teacher, currently working at an outstanding grammar School. I have been teaching for over 10 years.
I was also previously Head of Biology at a private international School in the Middle East.
I hold a 1st class integrated honours degree in Biological Sciences from The University of Warwick (MBio). I also hold a PgDipEd (PGCE) with QTS in Secondary Science from The University of Birmingham.
I am also a GCSE Science examiner and A-level Biology examiner and examine/assess on an annual basis for three of the major examination boards.
Coupled with my extensive teaching experience in top performing Schools, means that I am able to enhance the tutoring provision that I offer.
I focus on concise explanations, tailored to the language and specifics of various different examination boards, I have taught multiple examination boards, most notably would be AQA, OCR and Edexcel. I have also taught IALs.
I provide guided opportunities for practice at past examination questions, which I structure gradually in order to build a students confidence in the subject and to identify any misconceptions or common errors. I set homework (prior learning) in order to consolidate any new knowledge and understanding. I am also available to help students and respond swiftly

Perfect! Waqar is an excellent, flexible and honest A-level Biology tutor. He explained concepts clearly and thoroughly to my daughter, making even challenging topics easy to understand. He uses a whiteboard effectively to illustrate and annotate key points, which makes the lessons engaging and helps reinforce understanding.
My daughter really enjoyed her lessons with Waqar, and they were extremely valuable in improving both her understanding and confidence in Biology. He has a great pace and adapts his teaching to ensure concepts are properly understood without making the lessons feel overwhelming.
My daughter achieved a solid a level grade, and I’m very pleased with the support Waqar provided. Please note: first lesson is not free, superprofs platform does not let me change this option for some reason.
I charge a flat rate of 40 / per hour, even if this is for GSCE or A level. This would be for online tuition.
50 / per hour for tuition requiring in person attendance.
I do not charge beyond this or below this as I think this is a reasonable rate. Consider that I am:
A fully qualified Science teacher, with over 10 years of teaching experience and have taught in Good / Outstanding Schools in the UK and Internationally.
A graduate with a first class honours integrated Masters degree from one of the best Universities in the UK.
An examiner for over 10 years, with experience of examining for A level and GCSE for the major examination boards.
