About Joanne
Hello . My name is Joanne. I have been teaching Piano for over 30 years. I have extensive Teaching experience in New Zealand, Nagoya, Japan and Vienna, Austria. Since my relocation to New Zealand, I have estabished my Piano Teaching Business 'Von Trapp Music Academy'. In Vienna, I was the representative for Austria for the ABRSM . ( Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), while teaching Piano full time at the Vienna International School. I teach students from a wide range of abilities and backgrounds and all ages from 4 upwards. I am an accomplished professional pianist, a qualified high school Music teacher, and a Classical and Jazz Examiner for Trinity College of Music London.
Though I specialise in teaching Classical Piano, I do also teach offer lessons in a range of musical styles to suit students musical tastes. I always tailor my lessons to match the individual needs and preferences of my students, and I aim to create in my students a lifelong love of Music. I thrive on sharing my passion and knowledge of music with my students and I make it a priority to keep my lessons fresh,, interesting and exciting.
