About Rima
I have had a successful career as a class teacher and leader since 1996, where I have worked across the full Primary range in Oldham, Chorley and Rochdale. I have had various positions of responsibility including subject coordinator and Team Leader. In August 2011, my family and I moved to the United Arab Emirates where I worked at The British International School Abu Dhabi, one of 55 premium schools owned by Nord Anglia Education, consisting of over 1300 Primary students. Within my first year I was promoted to Assistant Headteacher responsible for Teaching and Learning. From August 2014 until my return to the UK in July 2018, I held the position of Deputy Head of Primary where I worked with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure all students in the Primary school receive a high quality education.
Following my return to the UK, I have carried out interim leadership roles, including Acting Headteacher and Associate Deputy Headteacher.
In addition to my full time teaching role, I have also privately tutored individual and small groups of students aged 5 to 14 in Maths and English as well as teaching adults from Korea and Greece basic English.

I am a qualified Primary teacher with over 20 years of outstanding teaching and leadership experience across the full Primary range both in the UK and internationally. Experienced in teaching the English National Curriculum and privately tutoring individuals of all ages, including preparation for end of KS2 SATs or the 11+ exam. Lessons can be delivered online or face-to-face at my address within a safe, quiet environment that is conducive to learning.
My calm and positive approach combined with use of varied and engaging strategies play a key role in motivating students to do their best. During my lessons, a growth mindset is encouraged, where students are willing to take risks and see mistakes as a learning opportunity. I have high expectations and strive to ensure students achieve their full potential. In my lessons, students will develop a mastery approach resulting in the ability to apply their skills and knowledge and will see challenge as an 'enjoyable struggle'. Using evidence from both summative and on-going assessment, learning will be personalised according to individual needs and interests.
