About Bridget
I am a highly experienced guitar tutor with 9 years of teaching school and college-level students. Throughout my tutoring career, I have successfully guided 200 to 250 students, helping them build strong technical skills and a deep appreciation for music. My teaching philosophy is built on real-life examples, accountability, collaboration, and patience, ensuring each student receives a well-rounded and personalized learning experience. I use practical examples from professional guitarists and real playing scenarios to help students connect classroom learning with real musical situations. I set clear practice goals and track progress regularly, keeping students accountable and motivated throughout their journey. Collaboration is an important part of my lessons, with jam sessions and group exercises that help students develop timing, rhythm, and the ability to play alongside others. I remain patient with every student, adjusting my pace to match their comfort level, especially when they face challenges with chords, finger strength, or timing. My lessons cover chords, strumming, fingerpicking, music theory, and improvisation, gradually building toward more advanced techniques like lead guitar and genre-specific styles. My goal is to help every student grow into a confident, well-rounded guitarist, whether they play for fun, in a band, or professionally.

My teaching approach for Guitar, Music Theory, and Improvisation focuses on building well rounded musicians who understand both the technical and creative sides of playing. With years of experience guiding students, I have developed a methodology that combines structure with genuine musical exploration.
I use real-life examples and case studies from professional guitarists and real playing situations to help students see how techniques apply beyond the practice room, whether in a band setting, live performance, or recording session. This makes lessons feel practical and connected to real musical experiences.
Accountability plays a big role in my teaching. I set clear practice goals with each student and check in regularly on their progress, helping them stay consistent and motivated. This structured approach keeps students focused and builds strong practice habits over time.
Collaboration is something I actively encourage, especially through jam sessions or playing along with backing tracks. This helps students learn to listen, adjust to other musicians, and understand rhythm and timing in a group context, not just as solo practice.
Patience guides how I handle every stage of learning. Whether a student is struggling with chord transitions, finger strength, or timing, I never rush the process and instead adjust the pace to match their comfort level, ensuring steady and confident progress.
My lessons typically start with proper hand posture, basic chords, and strumming patterns, gradually moving into fingerpicking, scales, and music theory fundamentals like rhythm and note reading. I introduce improvisation exercises early to help students develop creativity alongside technical skill.
For more advanced students, I focus on lead guitar techniques, solo development, and genre specific styles such as rock, blues, or acoustic fingerstyle, along with performance and stage presence training.
I adapt my teaching to each student's personal goals, whether they want to play casually, join a band, or pursue guitar professionally. My overall aim is to create an accountable, collaborative, and patient learning environment where students grow into confident, well rounded guitarists.
