Hey, I'm Kateri!
I’m passionate about Spanish and making its concepts both interesting and easy to understand for students. My approach combines visual learning, interactive lessons, and a variety of media like PowerPoint presentations and short YouTube videos to enrich understanding and make tricky topics more approachable. I break concepts down step by step, helping students grasp the bigger picture before diving into the details. I also encourage active participation through questions, practice exercises, and “teach-back” techniques to help students retain knowledge and build confidence.
A typical lesson plan looks like this:
Introduction: Hook students with real-life examples and introduce key terms they’ll need for the topic.
Core Concepts: Break the topic into smaller sections, explain each with visuals and examples, and check understanding with quick questions.
Practice & Application: Use short exercises, problem-solving, and mini-discussions to apply the concepts.
Testing Understanding: Summarize key takeaways and provide optional extra practice to reinforce learning.
