About Adonia

Hello! My name is Adonia, and I am a senior in high school. Growing up, reading and writing was my escape from the world. Being a competitive debater that has won in over 18 competitions in the past three years, writing and reading about my thoughts have helped me more than I can ever imagine. You would never catch me go somewhere without a book, and every day, I would write creatively in my diary. My love for reading and writing has sustained me throughout school. Reading-wise, I was reading at an 8th grade level in 4th grade, and a graduate level in 8th grade. In each essay I have written, whether it is thesis, expository, rhetorical analysis, synthesis, or argument, I have scored above 90% in all my writings. I can't wait to help other middle school and high school students improve their writing so that they can communicate their opinions even better.

About the lesson

During our first class, I will assess your skills. This will be a combination of a verbal assessment (what you tell me you need) and an objective assessment that I give you. Afterwards, I will have a conversation with you regarding why you are struggling in a certain area. Once I figure out the "why?", I will create a learning plan.
A typical day in class will look like this:
1. Mini - Lesson of given topic
2. Review of your classwork, what you did wrong, how we can fix it
3. Test corrections and a small activity
4. Homework (no longer than 25 minutes)
