About Stephanie
I am a High School Mathematics Teacher. I have my Honours BA from the University of Guelph where I majored in Mathematics with a minor in Statistics. I received my Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Secondary) from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. I have been tutoring primary, secondary, and university students in mathematics courses for the past 9 years.

Mathematics is not a subject that many students get excited about, and many feel as though they will never understand it and don't bother trying. My teaching method is to celebrate the little victories in order to bring that confidence back up. I work hard to present information for my students in a way that makes it seem really easy and attainable. Students often ask why they have to learn maths because it doesn't seem applicable to real life. I am completely honest with them in saying that not all mathematics classes are taught for "usefulness". Mathematics class is to help teach you to think logically and critically. While it may not seem like you use particular topics in the real world, it teaches you to come up rational steps to lead you to a solution - we can all agree that this is used in real life!
