About Amanda
I have been a high school math teacher for 17 years, teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, Honors Geometry, and Algebra 2. I have been tutoring math for over 20 years. I am currently teaching at Desert Vista High School #GoThunder I have two Master's Degrees, both in the field of Education. I have two children, a daughter starting at ASU and a son in 8th grade. Both of my children are very active in their sports. My main goal as a teacher is to make the lessons as enjoyable and fun as possible. Learning math is tough, but there are ways to make it fun :)

Each lesson is specialized for each student. I build my lessons around students' needs, strengths, interests, and goals. My main goal is for the student to develop confidence in the subject and for them to acquire different approaches to each problem that they will use in future classes. Building on each skill and making connections to previous lessons is essential for them to identify their own growth.
