I am a confident student who ensures your child learns and grows in mathematics. I have a 3.8 cumulative GPA while attending a rigorous private school. Additionally, I have over 120 hours of community service, during which I have learned to tutor children and young people and to keep them engaged in tasks. Tutoring lessons are for elementary-aged children to freshmen in high school (6 years - 14 years). I focus on active learning, not passive listening. Instead of just explaining concepts, I ask guiding questions so the students arrive at the answer themselves. I break complex topics into small, digestible steps and use real examples to help the student thoroughly understand the topic and feel confident. Mistakes are treated with kindness and are used to help guide the student to better understand the topic.
A typical lesson plan:
First 5 min: Quick review of the previous session and a check-in on what felt hard or easy.
10 min: Teach a concrete concept with examples and encourage the student to take notes they can reference.
20 min: Guided practice where we solve problems together.
10 min: You try a problem on your own while I watch for stuck points.
5 min: Summary and a tiny, clear takeaway to practice before next time.

Tutoring lessons are online as I am a high school boarding student. However, I can do in-person if preferred only during the following times:
- Weekends
- Spring break
- Fall break
- Winter break
- Summer break

Weekdays: 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
