About Catherine
As a recent high school graduate, I know what kind of things are being taught in history class. I took all AP History classes, and my teacher took the story-telling approach, instead of listing off names, dates, and facts. I want to help students really understand the past (how it happened, why it happened, and what it all means for our society today), instead of having them memorize facts. It is essential to understand our story as a whole, which I can assist with. History can be an overwhelming subject to learn because there are so many players to be familiar with. I can help break each story down, step by step, to ensure that each part is understood as a whole.

My teaching method is story telling followed by questions about the who, what, where, why, and how of the topic or time period being discussed. I will gladly help answer any questions and help explain the history behind the history, as well as the affect that historical events have on today's modern world. Areas of study are from the Civil War to the 1950s. Lessons are given to middle and high school students.
