About Martiya
I am a high school student who just graduated with a GPA of 3.5 and higher, ending off with an average of 3.87 unweighted. My transcript as of my 4 years in high school has been mostly all A’s and a couple B’s in some AP courses. I work well with students and will assure that people who get tutored by me have the best experience as well as learn more in the academic standpoint. I have had previous experiences with tutoring other people around my community, so I know what it takes to be a good tutor.

As a recent high school graduate with strong skills in math, English, and Spanish, my tutoring approach is all about clarity, patience, and making learning feel less overwhelming and more empowering. I know how frustrating it can be when something doesn’t click right away, so I break down topics into manageable steps and explain them in simple, relatable ways—using real-world examples and adjusting my style based on how each student learns best. A typical session starts with a quick review, followed by teaching the main concept through examples, giving the student time to practice, and wrapping up with a summary and next steps. I’m especially good at spotting where students are stuck and helping them build confidence through guided practice and encouragement. Being bilingual also allows me to support Spanish-speaking students or explain lessons in both languages if needed. I tutor middle and high school students in math (including algebra and geometry), English (from writing and grammar to literature), and beginner to intermediate Spanish. Whether you need homework help, test prep, or just want someone who understands what you're going through, I'm here to make things easier and help you succeed.
