About Nawal

My name is Nawal, I am a year 12 graduate beginning my first year of law at ANU, having achieved consistently high academic results throughout years 11 and 12, particularly in English and Literature subjects. English and Literature are deeply important to me because they are as creative as they are methodical. They offer every student regardless of their starting point the opportunity to excel when provided with the right tools and guidance. I am passionate about offering that support, whether it involves building strong foundational skills or refining and strengthening existing abilities. Not only will my tutoring benefit students in school, but building these media literacy skills will equip them with long-lasting critical thinking skills.

About the lesson

My current qualifications: High-achieving Year 12 graduate, starting first year of law at ANU, Have been tutoring high school students 1 on 1 for 2 years. Standard lesson length: 1 hour (minimum). Other subjects available: Math (K-10), chemistry (7-10), Biology (7-12). Teaching style for English and literature-based tutoring includes (1) developing essay and creative writing skills through analyzing the structures of a high caliber essay and incorporating its base qualities into the students' writing. (2) Going through previous and current class work and texts to enhance the students' skillset. Here students will apply their learning to test and strengthen their reading and writing abilities. Further lesson plans will be created, tailored to developing each student's abilities.
